The Abbey in Fort Augustus is set in a hugely popular area, with guests from all over the world invited to share the magic of Loch Ness along with its beauty and history.
Situated in Fort Augustus, this unique Monastery holiday rental sits within the fairy-tale surroundings of the historic Fort of Fort Augustus, which was gifted by Lord Lovat to the Bendictine Monks in 1876. The magnificant Monastery took the monks just 4 years to build! The accommodation comprises of:

A maximum of 4 people are permitted to use the property (including the grounds) and we ask you to be respectful of other residents. Parties / large gatherings on any part of the property, including the grounds are strictly prohibited.
Quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am.
We kindly ask guests to be respectful to others in residence by trying to be as quiet as possible after 11pm.

St Benedict's Abbey, The Highland Club & the local area of Fort Augustus
At the heart of the Great Glen, the estate of St Benedict's Abbey can be found on the southern tip 0f Loch Ness, in the pretty and vibrant village of Fort Augustus. This stunning location is where Loch Ness meets the Caledonian Canal, a world class visitor attraction and destination hub. Fort Augustus is home to the Caledonian Canal visitor centre and is always bustling with sightseers and boating enthusiasts alike.

Fort Augustus is a great base to explore the Highlands, with many famous attractions and stunning locations, such as Glencoe, Glen Affric, Glefinnan Viaduct (famous train line used in the filming of Harry Potter), the Isle of Skye and not forgetting to Cruise Loch Ness (hopefully with a glimpse of Nessie too!). The Fort Augustus is great for hiking and relaxing, plus the village has a good range of amenities including:

Drumnadrochit which means “Ridge of the Bridge” is a village on the western shore of Loch Ness, in the Scottish Highlands home to the famous Loch Ness Monster. Visit Nessieland centre a monster adventure on the shores of Loch Ness with family-friendly exhibits and loch cruises. Ruined Urquhart Castle overlooks the lake just east of the village center. To the west, wooded Glen Urquhart and Glen Affric offer horse-riding and hiking trails.
Inverness is a city on Scotland’s northeast coast, where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth. It's the largest city and the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. Inverness is famous for two important battle sites: the 11th-century battle of Blàr nam Fèinne against Norway which took place on the Aird, and the 18th century Battle of Culloden which took place on Culloden Moor
Fort William is a town in the western Scottish Highlands, on the shores of Loch Linnhe. It’s known as a gateway to Ben Nevis, the U.K.’s highest peak, and Glen Nevis valley, home to Steall Falls. Explore Fort Williams mountains, lochs, rivers, coasts, cliffs and sandy beaches.
Visit the Falls of Foyers, the Falls of Foyers are two waterfalls on the River Foyers, which flow into Loch Ness, in Highland. They are located on the lower portion of the River Foyers, and consist of the upper falls, with a drop of 46 feet and the lower falls, which drop 98 feet
Further afield you will find many other points of interest, most notably Perthshire, picturesque Blair Athol with it's historic Castle and the Cairngorms National Park, home to the summer residence of the British Royal Family, Balmoral Castle & Estate (where you will find the UK's largest pyramid!).
